The History Of Al-Khawarij

We’ll be talking about this debate that took place between Abdullah Ibn Abbas (RA) and the sect of Al-khawarij, and the ulamah, many ulamah have said that this is the first deviation or the verse the first bidah, the first Innovation that took place in the history of Islam. this group called Al-khawarij appeared at the time of Ali Ibn Abi Talib (RA), and they used to label Abu Bakr and the rest of the sahaba with kufur, and they were violent and they created many problems in the Muslim State at that time, and Ali (RA) had to fight with them based on the instructions of Rasulullah صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ

he almost finished them but some of them few of them stayed escape death and then they were able to spread their ideology.

now in this document that is called Munazarah ibn Al-Abbas Lil-khawarij, the debate Of Ibn Al-Abbas with Al-khawarij, they are called Al-Haruriyyah, So ibn Abbas would call them Al-haruriyaah, why Al-Haruriyyah? because, the when they pulled out, when they left the Muslim Community they went to a place called harurah, which is a place two miles located two miles from the city of Al-Kufa, so this stayed there that was their camp, in some many resources of History like Al-Bidayah wan-nihaya, they mentioned the different numbers twelve thousand, sixteen thousand, now we are concerned with this story here with what Ibn Abbas (RA) said, when we went to them, they were around six thousand people. so he said (RA) and this Hadith is well documented in mustadrak al Hakim,
