Life In The Grave – Bilal Assad
The Hadith of the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam says
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَحِيرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ هَانِئًا، مَوْلَى عُثْمَانَ قَالَ كَانَ عُثْمَانُ إِذَا وَقَفَ عَلَى قَبْرٍ بَكَى حَتَّى يَبُلَّ لِحْيَتَهُ فَقِيلَ لَهُ تُذْكَرُ الْجَنَّةُ وَالنَّارُ فَلاَ تَبْكِي وَتَبْكِي مِنْ هَذَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
“ إِنَّ الْقَبْرَ أَوَّلُ مَنَازِلِ الآخِرَةِ فَإِنْ نَجَا مِنْهُ فَمَا بَعْدَهُ أَيْسَرُ مِنْهُ وَإِنْ لَمْ يَنْجُ مِنْهُ فَمَا بَعْدَهُ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُ ” . قَالَ وَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ” مَا رَأَيْتُ مَنْظَرًا قَطُّ إِلاَّ وَالْقَبْرُ أَفْظَعُ مِنْهُ ” . قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ هِشَامِ بْنِ يُوسُفَ
Hani’ the freed slave of ‘Uthman said:
When ‘Uthman would stop at a grave he would cry until his beard was soaked (in tears). It was said to him: ‘The Paradise and the Fire were mentioned and you did not cry, yet you cry because of this?’ So he said: ‘Indeed the Messenger of Allah said: “Indeed the grave is the first stage among the stages of the Hereafter. So if one is saved from it, then what comes after it is easier than it. And if one is not saved from it, then what comes after it is worse than it.” And the Messenger of Allah said: “I have not seen any sight except that the grave is more horrible than it.”
উসমান (রাঃ)-এর মুক্তদাস হানী বলেন, উসমান (রাঃ) কোন কবরের পাশে দাড়িয়ে এত কাঁদতেন যে, তার দাড়ি ভিজে যেত। তাকে প্রশ্ন করা হলো, জান্নাত জাহান্নামের আলোচনা করা হলে তো আপনি আপনি কাঁদেন না, অথচ এই কবর দর্শনে এত বেশি কাঁদেন কেন? তিনি বললেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ আখিরাতের মানযিলসমূহের (প্রাসাদ) মধ্যে কবর হলো প্রথম মানযিল। এখান হতে কেউ মুক্তি পেয়ে গেলে তবে তার জন্য পরবর্তী মানযিলগুলোতে মুক্তি পাওয়া খুব সহজ হয়ে যাবে। আর সে এখান হতে মুক্তি না পেলে তবে তার জন্য পরবর্তী মানযিলগুলো আরো বেশি কঠিন হবে। তিনি (উসমান) বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম আরো বলেছেনঃ আমি কবরের দৃশ্যের চাইতে অধিক ভয়ংকর দৃশ্য আর কখনো দেখিনি।

Hadith No. 2308.
The grave is the first part of the hereafter (The day of judgement) if he or she is saved .

better and easier. He will be saved from more bigger things if he is not saved from the torments and the punishments of the grave then whatever is going to come after that is going to be worse, my brothers and sisters in islam, When a persons goes to the Grave the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam tells us, He or she takes with them three things, One Stays and two return, the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam said your family and your wealth return what stays with your are you deeds, your good and bad deeds because thats whats going to be determine. where you are going to be and whats going to happen to you in your grave.
The prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam indicates, or tells us the dead people visit each other in their grave for he said sallallahu alaihi wasallam, when you bury your dead then make their shroud nice
