Favorite Food Of Muhammad (Saw)

Allah Almighty granted many blessings to human beings, food, water, shelter, and many other Natural Things included. Among all these basic necessities of life food is the utmost physiological, requirement of every living being in this world. Such favors from Almighty Allah require one to be thankful for everything it eats from them. Our beloved Prophet Muhammad صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ lived most of his time in hardness, still He صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ always remain thankful to Allah Almighty, for all given by Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ He صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ used to eat everything that was presented and never complained about it.

All of us should follow the Sunnah of the Prophet peace be upon him, in every matter of life, also in eating food.

If you have been wanting to bring about a change in your current eating habits, and adopt a healthier way of life, what better role model is there to follow, than the prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him, led a life of balance, moderation, and had an extremely nutritious diet, every food has its own benefits, here is a list of foods that the prophet used to have in his everyday life, some of them are also mentioned in the Quran, and we’re going to discuss them here,

Barley

Barley was the main food item in the diet of our messenger the prophet Muhammad mostly consumed barley bread with either meat, soup, pumpkin, vinegar, olive oil and dates. it has many health benefits, and is slow to digest. So it keeps us Fuller longer two of the greatest cures of heart ailment are whole wheat and barley.
In Abu dawud, Yusuf ibn Abdullah (R) States, I saw the prophet صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ take a piece of barley bread and put a date on it he then said The Barley was Bread’s vegetable, when talking about barley, it’s hard not to mention talbinah

A porridge made of powdered barley, honey and milk. It was recommended by the prophet to his companions, when suffering an illness, or weakness of any kind. Aisha (R) Said, I heard the Prophet صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ saying Talbinah gives rest to the heart of the patient and makes it active and relieves some of the sorrow and grief as mentioned in bukhari.

Pumpkin

the second is pumpkin it was one of the prophet’s most favorite vegetables. Anas Bin Malik, the close companion of the Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him reported, a tailor invited Allah’s Messenger to a Meal which he had prepared, I went along with Allah’s messenger, he presented to Allah’s messenger peace be upon Him barley bread, and soup containing pumpkin, and sliced pieces of meat, I saw Allah’s messenger going after the pumpkin around the dish. So I have always liked the pumpkin since that day.

On another occasion, Anas Bin Malik said, “the prophet used to like pumpkin, he was brought some food and invited to eat. I picked up the pumpkin in the plate and put it before him, because I knew he liked it.” (Tirmidhi).

Aisha, the prophet’s wife, narrated that he said to her, “oh Aisha when you cook, add pumpkins abundantly, because it strengthens the heart”.

Prophet Muhammad peace be upon Him is not the first of the prophets to eat pumpkin, and to show its health benefits and superiority over other vegetables. when prophet yunus was thrown out of the whale, that had swallowed him and when he was washed on the shore, he found a pumpkin plant, which helped heal him the plan provided shade for him, its leaves had medicinal properties, which helped heal his wounds, and skin sores, which had developed from the acidity in the whale stomach, and he ate from the pumpkin which is a nutrient dense food, eating the pumpkin help Prophet yunus recuperate and recover.
