একজন নবী ও একটি পিঁপড়ার গল্প
মূল গল্পে যাবার আগে স্কুল জীবনের একটি গল্প বলি। এমন গল্পের সাথে প্রায় প্রত্যেকেই পরিচিত। প্রত্যেকেরই স্কুল জীবনে এমন ঘটনা থাকার সম্ভাবনা অনেক বেশি।
স্কুলের কোনো স্যার/ম্যামের ক্লাসে এমন হতো, পেছন থেকে কেউ শিস দিতো বা কোনো মন্তব্য করতো। শিক্ষক জিজ্ঞেস করতেন, “কে শিস দিয়েছে/কে হেসেছে?” তখন কাউকে আর খুঁজে পাওয়া যেতো না। অনেক্ষণ জিজ্ঞেস করার পর শেষমেশ শিক্ষক সিদ্ধান্ত নিতেন- যদি কেউ স্বীকার না করে, তাহলে সবাইকে মারবেন। যে অপরাধী, সে তো স্বীকার করতো না। শেষমেশ, একজনের অপরাধের জন্য সবাই মার খেতো। যারা জীবনে কোনোদিন শিক্ষকের মার খায়নি, ঐদিন তাদের হাতেও বেতের বাড়ি জুটতো।
শিক্ষকের ওপর খুব রাগ হতো। একজন অপরাধ করলো, তাকে ধরতে পারেননি বলে কি সবাইকে শাস্তি দিতে হবে? এটাকে শাস্তি মনে হতো না। এটাকে মনে হতো প্রতিশোধ।
রাসূলুল্লাহ (সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়া সাল্লাম) একজন নবীর ঘটনা উল্লেখ করেন। ঐ নবীর নাম বলেননি। এটা হলো আদব। সীরাতের অনেক ঘটনায় পাওয়া যায় কোনো সাহাবী ভুল বা কোনো অপরাধ করলে তাঁর ঘটনা বলার সময় সাহাবীর নাম উহ্য থাকতো।
যেমন: ইফক্বের ঘটনা বর্ণনার সময় আয়িশা (রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহা), যিনা করার ইচ্ছাকারী যুবকের ঘটনা।
ঐ নবী একদিন একটি গাছের নিচে বিশ্রাম নিচ্ছেন। তখন একটি পিঁপড়া তাঁকে কামড় দিলো। তিনি প্রচণ্ড বিরক্ত হোন, তাঁর রাগ হয়। গাছের নিচ থেকে আসবাবপত্র সরানোর নির্দেশ দেন। যাবার সময় পিঁপড়ার বাসায় আগুন জ্বালিয়ে দেন। গাছের নিচের পিঁপড়াগুলো মারা যায়।
তখন আল্লাহ তাঁর ওপর ওহী নাযিল করলেন। আল্লাহ তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন-
“একটি মাত্র পিঁপড়া আপনাকে কামড় দিলো, তাতেই কিনা সমস্ত উম্মত ও সৃষ্টিকূলের এমন একটি জাতিকে জ্বালিয়ে দিলেন, যারা আল্লাহর তাসবীহ পাঠ করছিলো? আপনি একটি মাত্র পিঁপড়াকে শাস্তি দিলেন না কেনো?”
[সহীহ বুখারী: ৩৩১৯, সহীহ মুসলিম: ৫৭৪২]
এই ঘটনার মাধ্যমে আল্লাহ জানিয়ে দিলেন যে, যে অপরাধ করছে তাকে শাস্তি দিতে হবে। অপরাধকারী শনাক্ত করা না গেলে ধরে ধরে সবাইকে শাস্তি দিতে হবে, এমন না। একজন নিরপরাধকে শাস্তি দেবার চেয়ে সন্দেহযুক্ত দশজন অপরাধীকে মুক্তি দেয়া উত্তম। উমর ইবনুল খাত্তাব (রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু) এই নীতি অনুসরণ করতেন।
ভবিষ্যতে অনেকেই স্কুলের শিক্ষক হবেন। কিংবা এরকম পরিস্থিতি আসতে পারে, যখন সন্দেহভাজন অনেককে শাস্তি দিতে মন চাইবে। তখন এই ঘটনার কথা মনে রাখতে পারেন। আল্লাহ নিরপরাধ পিঁপড়াকে শাস্তি দেয়া পছন্দ করেননি, নিরপরাধ মানুষকে শাস্তি দেয়া কিভাবে পছন্দ করবেন?
